recorded from rudys homemade studio in hampton virginia before he cut *searching for love* on harvest records around 1983, he did this wonderful modern synth winner. with rudy just having one pass on a reel of this song, we remastered it a little at the super disco hq to give it a brighter feel. sure its pretty lo-fi but the quality of the song writing playing and melodies are more than enough to let is see the joys of a turntable. this is once again a limited press.

the adventures of gary gritness chapter 2. gary delivers a cyberfunk joyride with 9 shit hot instrumental electro funk tracks (spread over 2 eps) with a cinematical feel, blending nowadays influences from the streets of detroit, oakland and atlanta around his trademark soulful sound.

the title track -loom- builds around an electro acidic arpeggiated bassline that keeps intensity high through the roof and is topped with great drum and effect arrangements. -that s not you- goes into a deeper direction with a big bass house influence, killer breakdowns and great synth work. -bang- closes this release with style, this one is has a great bouncy groove, vocal stabs and dark twisted melodies making your mind trip all over the place.

our next big release at bad barbie, going out on digital and 12 inch, comes by the hand of aldo cadiz itself, but this time partnered with kareem cali. these two made a fantastic three track ep called monita ep. the first track monita presents a solid base created with a classic tech style and an extremely groovy bass line. full of small arrangements and a crazy vocal line, this tracks its perfect for any club dj. the second track bonita, is the one with the more old school vibe, from the bass line to the main acid synth, which goes evolving softly with a filter during the track to generate the needed tension. all this with a strong tech groove to follow the step of this solid ambience created by the acid synths. the last track moni, also has many techno and acid elements presents. we can perceive the techno soul mainly on the arrangement of the hi-hats and bass line, but the acid synth in triplet at the backend is what generates the crazy vibe and almost hypnotic feeling during the track, playing around with the volume of it. definitely a fantastic release to add to any collection.

on the flip, disco de moda, named after the johannesburg party with a decidedly digital disco bent, arps and chugs to robotic climax. finally, tidings are closed with the organic and synthetic, tied together in private life, a blend of flute and synth undulating to a psychedelic crescendo.
